New Sign Ups Closed
Posted on February 24th, 2009 by Chris Coyier
Our growth since launching Are My Sites Up has been enormous, which is a wonderful problem to have!
As you might suspect, our free service is by far the most popular. As our free users grow and grow, we need our server power to grow and grow to keep up. Unfortunately, servers cost a lot of money. This fact was not lost on us when we started out, of course. We are just at the point right now we need to intentionally cool down the growth and plot a course that will allow us to match user growth to server power in a way that is good for everyone.
And so, new registrations are temporarily closed. If you have checked out the Premium Service features and would like to start a new Premium account, let me know and we can certainly do that. Otherwise, stay tuned for the a reopening!

Please email me when registration reopens.
Thanks.
Max
Oops. Email addy typo.

Except the Blog via email link isn’t working. I get a 404 when I click on it
My bad. Was related to the Google/Feedburner move. That link should be working now.
CONGRATULATIONS!
Aw, and just when I was about to sign up. Anyways, I have a feeling I’ll be recommending this to readers of my blog when registrations are open again – fits perfectly with my goals of achieving peace of mind with business.
Would love to be kept up to date about reopening.
Best regards from Zurich,
A.
Great looking service,… would love to be notified when you open again.
Many thanks,
Pete
If you guys need any help with additional server resources, let me know!
I developed a script like this about 2 years ago in the middle of another project. During development one of the servers kept crashing so I wrote a quick script to ping the main domain for that server and put it on a cron job.
I forgot to mention.. after it pinged the domain, it would TXT you notifying the server was down. Was a handing thing to have, guess I should’ve focused on that being the project!
Great to hear your growth is off the charts! Maybe you guys should hurry up and expand your system resources!!! I’m sure a ton of people want to try out the free service. Although I’m sure making them wait for it has it’s benefits too. Hype, anyone?
Can’t wait until you open it back up – I could have swore that I had signed up – but looks like i was wrong…
Please let me know when signups are open again. This service is exactly what I need right now.
Please email me when registration reopens.
Thanks.
Happy to see you guys doing well, hope you figure out some extra capacity soon; This service is exactly what I need
Hi guys,
This service looks amazing !
Could you please email me when it’s back up? I would really like to try this out (and certainly go premium if it suits my needs).
Thanks.
