Chugging Away

Are My Sites Up is only a couple of days old now. We’ve had a fantastic launch. Lots of accounts and lots of positive feedback. We even sold all the ad spots in the first day, which is great and certainly helps keep us motivated! The server has been getting pounded pretty good. We had some slowdowns but never once has the server actually gone down or have any of the processes quit.
There have been a couple of hiccups though. Keep reading for some explainations of those, but please keep in mind this is a free and brand new service. We are working hard to get everything perfect!
One of the hiccups is there are some sites that are causing weird errors when we go to check them. At first, this was causing our little routine to quit and start again, causing some sites to go unchecked. This has been fixed. Now when we come across a site causing an error, it is marked with our new yellow warning icon:
– We had a problem accessing your site, and are looking into the issue.
This doesn’t necessarily mean that your site is down. In fact, it probably isn’t. It just means we need to take a closer look at why that site is causing an error and fix it. This is going to take us a little time, so bear with us! If your site is literally marked as Down/Red, please let us know.
